Les Misérables

We had a great time watching Les Miserables last night in Meridian. Hearing the songs brought back memories of riding with Mom & Jill while they sang through the soundtrack. Anyway, I thought that the thespians of Stage 2 theater group did an excellent job.

Here are some photos we took after the show (The last one is of Rita in costume).

A deadly combination.

Well it's late, so I'm going to keep this post short and sweet. Work has been INSANE lately! Everyone has been working really hard, so to say thank you I made these lovely cupcakes. Last time I made cupcakes a few people said I never make chocolate, so I thought I would indulge the chocolate lovers with Oreo and Health Bar toppings. Originally I planned on making chocolate icing as well, but I decided that might be a little much. It's all a little much for me, considering I don't like chocolate :)

Franklin's Big Boy Bowl

About a month ago Pete and I decided it was time for Franklin to stop using our condiment cups as food and water bowls. Keep in mind that when we brought him home we were feeding him from a bottle, yes a bottle! Then again, he could also fit in the palm of our hand. It was so sweet, yesterday when Franklin's new dish came in the mail he got so excited! To put the old bowls into perspective; the new dish is 4 inches tall! He's still getting used to the new bowl...he takes the food out of the bowl, puts it on the ground and then eats it. He'll get the hang of it eventually. Oh, I almost forgot...the bowl was handcrafted from a lovely family owned shop on etsy called Woodin' You. Please support America's small businesses :)

Simply Lovely

My sister and my gorgeous nephew, Aiden came to visit me last night. It just need to say that Aiden is the most beautiful child in the world. We were eating dinner last night and I could not help but stare at him...I mean, he is simply lovely! I wish I had a camera to capture these moments.

This is completely random, but Franklin has gotten so big!

Before & After

In a previous post I mentioned that Pete wanted to shave his head....well, he did it! Here are the before and after shots. I really really loved his long hair (comparatively speaking), but the shaved head is growing on me :) It's hard to say which style I like best, because they are both so different. He loves it and thinks it makes him look more professional. Whatever makes him happy...change is good!

Franklin & Sadie

Franklin Jack Bauer Willis has grown up so fast! Yes, that is his whole name...Pete's only a little obsessed with 24. Here's a video I took of him today playing with Sadie (Pete's mom's 150lb Mastiff). It is truly amazing how gentle Sadie is with Franklin. By the way, did you notice Pete's new haircut!!! I will post before and after pictures very soon.

Yes...MORE cupcakes!

I know what you are thinking...Really? More cupcakes! Well I can't help myself. I made these cupcakes for some friends at work. Birthday cupcakes are a must in my book. Did you notice the surprise inside...a Reese's peanut buttercup!

Thank you to my good friend May Molina for taking these wonderful photos :)

Red?

Loren wants to dye her hair red. Pete does not like the idea.
Pete wants to shave his head. Loren's not a fan.

More Cupcakes!!!

As most of you probably already know...Pete has been working in Starkville the last few months (3 hours away). So, I thought I would make him something sweet to enjoy during the week while he's working. I saw a really cool rainbow cake on Whisk-Kid's blog and thought it would be neat to translate into a cupcake (because I'm obsessed). I've seen many rainbow cupcakes that are swirled but I thought it would be a nice surprise to layer them in the cupcake liner. The goal was to have 3 layers of cake separated by icing and then icing on top of course. Obviously it didn't turn out quite like I imagined, but atleast they taste really good. I let Pete pick out the colors (which remind me of Nickelodeon). I call them "Inside Out Cupcakes."

Easter Cupcakes

Not a very good photo...I took it with Pete's iPhone. Did I mention I broke my camera when we were playing in the snow?!?

Help Me Dance

Visitors

Lindsey and Aiden came to visit us last Thursday. Thanks Lindsey for dinner at TGI Fridays...the adult juice was so dangerous (as Aiden would say). Franklin was so scared of Aiden...with good reason. Let's see...he tackled him, stepped on him, and fell on him outside (all on accident of course). It was a nice visit...we love visitors :)

Franklin

Franklin got a new toy...maybe this will encourage him to stay away from our shoes :)
He also thinks he's a parrot...

Introducing our new addition...Franklin Willis

We got a new puppy yesterday evening... miniature pinsher.
We finally named him this afternoon...FRANKLIN.
Some of our other possibilities were: Dutch, Samson, Elton, or Jude. He is so precious...a ball of energy! He is asleep
in my lap at the moment and he slept with us last night. He was the runt of the litter...my dad got my mom his sister
for her birthday. All of the dog and cat collars were too small so he's wearing a farret collar until I can find a really cool
one online (any suggestions for good sites?). Anyway, here are a few pictures...he's always moving so these are the best
I could get for now.

Welcome our sweet little Franklin, Welcome!

Franklin

Snow Day 2.12.10

Well it wasn't the 8 inches they predicted, but it was enough to close work and build snowmen :) We got about 4 inches of snow in Hattiesburg yesterday...and we had a blast playing in it. We high-jacked the snowman in the bottom picture and acted like he was ours...we even took pictures with him. Then, we decided to build our own...holding hands, how cute :)

Some Recent Paintings...

I've recently started painting again...and am in the process of trying to get some of my work into local galleries...wish me luck!

A few wedding pictures

Here are just a few pictures that Pete's mom sent us...we still haven't ordered our pictures yet so this is all we have for now. Thanks to Daisy and Beau Moffatt for taking such lovely photographs. It's been almost impossible to choose from the 2000+ shots.
